2023 EU Organic Product Import Report - China's Organic Product Exports to Europe Gradually Recovering

According to the report, the total volume of EU organic products imports in 2022 decreased by 9.1% compared with the previous year, falling from 2.87 million tonnes in 2021 to 2.73 million tonnes, reflecting the impact of inflation in 2022, which generally raised food prices and reduced public demand for organic products. In 2022, despite the impact of pandemic lockdown measures, China's total exports of organic products to the EU recovered from a sharp decline to positive growth (+30%), with the total still reaching 194,100 tonnes of organic products, of which 120,100 tonnes were oilcake products.
