The national food safety standard "Maximum Residue Limits for Pesticides in Food" (GB 2763-2012) was officially implemented on March 1, 2013, replacing the previous six national standards concerning maximum residue limits for pesticides in food, while ten related agricultural industry standards were simultaneously abolished. This standard will become the sole mandatory national standard for regulating pesticide residues in food in China.
It is reported that the new standard established 2,293 residue limits for 322 pesticides, an increase of more than 1,400 compared with the original standards. All residue limits were formulated based on China's actual conditions and in comprehensive consideration of the Codex Alimentarius Commission (CAC) standards. Meanwhile, the standard underwent thorough risk assessment, extensively solicited opinions from the general public and relevant departments, and accepted reviews from WTO members regarding its scientific validity, thereby achieving scientific rigor, openness, and transparency.
Staff from the Municipal Agricultural Product Quality and Safety Testing and Inspection Center stated that the new standard, for the first time, established group limit standards for agricultural products of the same category and maximum pesticide residue limit standards for primary processed products, and recommended supporting detection methods for specific parameters. Information such as pesticide names, residues, acceptable daily intake, and food names was verified and revised.文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11412/
