At the end of June 2021, the European Commission published the 2020 Annual Report on EU Imports of Organic Products, which summarizes and analyzes the COI (Certificate of Inspection for imports of organic products into the EU) data issued in the TRACES system (the EU's organic product sales certificate management system).文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11774/
In 2020, the 27 EU Member States imported a total of 2.794 million tonnes of various organic products, a decrease of 1.9% compared with 2.849 million tonnes in 2019 (excluding UK imports). The share of bulk commodities in imports was 48%, a significant decrease from 53% in 2019. The share of primary agricultural products in imports rose from 38% to 42%.文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11774/

The Netherlands remained the largest importer of organic products in the EU. In 2020, nearly one third of organic products imported into the EU were imported by the Netherlands (31%), followed by Germany (18%), Belgium (11%) and France (10%). Organic imports by Member States that joined the EU after 2004 increased to 5%, compared with 4% in 2019.文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11774/

China fell to third place in terms of total organic products exported to the EU, with a total of approximately 228,000 tonnes, still accounting for 8% of total EU imports, down five percentage points from 13% in 2019. Ecuador and the Dominican Republic replaced China and Ukraine respectively as the top two sources of EU organic product imports in 2020.文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11774/

From the quantities of organic products exported by the top ten sources of EU organic product imports in 2019 and 2020, it can be seen that China and Ukraine experienced the largest declines in organic product export volumes, while Colombia and India experienced the fastest growth in export volumes. However, Colombia's main organic products exported to the EU were cane sugar products, while India's growth was due to filling the market space left by the substantial decline in China's exports of organic pressed oilseed cake products.文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11774/

China's organic exports continued to be dominated by roughly processed pressed oilseed cake products for feed use, totaling 135,000 tonnes, accounting for 59% of China's total organic product exports to the EU, but export volumes in 2020 fell by 47% compared with 2019. At the same time, China also exported 8,000 tonnes of soybeans and oilseed crops to the EU that can be used to produce cake and meal products, which, together with organic pressed oilseed cake, accounted for 62.73% of China's total organic product exports to the EU.文章源自FOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/am/11774/
