　  Recently, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the State Administration for Industry and Commerce, and cnca jointly issued a notice requiring quality supervision and industry and commerce departments at all levels to further strengthen the regulation of organic products and standardise the organic product consumer market. The notice requires:
　　1. Quality inspection departments at all levels shall strengthen supervision over certified organic product enterprises in accordance with the law. For certified enterprises whose production or processing procedures, or the use of certificate and certification marks, fail to meet the requirements for organic product certification discovered during supervision, the certification body shall be promptly notified to suspend or revoke the certificate. Where a certification body refuses to suspend or revoke the certificate without a legitimate reason, it shall be investigated and dealt with strictly in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Regulations on Certification accreditation.
　　2. Quality inspection departments at all levels should further strengthen the supervision of the use of organic product certificate and certification marks in the circulation sector. Sellers who fail to comply with relevant regulations should be ordered to rectify the situation. For production enterprises whose certification marks or certificate are overdue, beyond the scope, forged, or fraudulently used, they should be investigated and dealt with strictly in accordance with laws and regulations such as the Product Quality Law and the Certification accreditation Regulations.
　　3. Quality inspection departments at all levels must severely crack down on illegal and non-compliant certification and certification consultancy activities in accordance with the law, further cleaning up the certification market. At the same time, they should strengthen the promotion and implementation of the national standard for Organic Products among vendors, urging them to purchase, store, transport and sell organic products in strict accordance with the requirements of the national standard. It is strictly forbidden to carry out secondary repackaging, cutting or self-applying organic product certification marks on organic products outside the production and processing sites indicated in certificate, among other practices.
4. Administration for Industry and Commerce departments at all levels shall strictly investigate and punish illegal acts such as the sale of forged or fraudulently used organic product certification marks and false advertising in accordance with laws and regulations such as the Product Quality Law, the Advertising Law, and the Anti-Unfair Competition Law.
5. If consumers discover illegal or non-compliant activities, they may report them to the quality inspection and industry and commerce departments via the 12365 complaint hotline and the 12315 consumer complaint and reporting network, respectively. Quality inspection and industry and commerce departments at all levels shall strengthen coordination and cooperation, enhance information exchange and collaboration, promptly accept and legally process relevant reports from consumers, and effectively safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of consumers.
　　Organic product certification is a third-party certification activity carried out on food and other products in accordance with internationally accepted organic product standards. After cnca was established, a unified national organic product certification system was established in accordance with China's "Certification accreditation Regulations" and international practices. Driven by national policies, China's organic product certification has developed rapidly. As of the first quarter of this year, China has issued a cumulative total of 11,090 valid certificates, with 7,728 certified enterprises and an organic planting area reaching 2 million hectares.
