Niu Decai said that the area of the Gaoming District efficient pollution-free vegetable standardization demonstration zone has expanded from the original more than 2,000 mu to the current annual planting area of 85,100 mu, radiating and driving the surrounding vegetable planting area to reach more than 120,000 mu. “After implementing vegetable standardization, the average yield per mu increased by 320 kilograms, and per capita income increased by more than 480 yuan.”
“The yield per mu of Leping snow pear melon used to be no more than 1,000 jin. After implementing standardization and switching to grafting seedling cultivation, the disease resistance of the melon seedlings was enhanced, and the current yield per mu can reach 2,500 jin per year.” Mr. Lu, who is responsible for Leping snow pear melon cultivation, also told reporters that the current planting area of Leping snow pear melon has reached about 10,000 mu, and its selling price is 0.5 yuan per jin higher than other similar products.
