Straw biological reactor technology is a new cultivation technique that uses straw to replace chemical fertilisers and plant vaccines to replace pesticides. Its effectiveness in controlling pests and diseases can reach 45 to 95%, it can reduce pesticide usage by 70%, save over 50% of chemical fertilisers, bring forward the time when agricultural products go on the market by 15 to 20 days, extend the harvest period by 30 to 40 days, and increase average yields by over 50%. This greatly lowers production costs, raises output value, and the technology is easy to operate, rich in resources, has significant environmental protection effects, and the quality of the agricultural products can meet the standards prescribed for organic food. Dengta City introduced straw biological reactor technology from Shouguang, Shandong in 2008 and promoted it across 10 townships in the city.
