Chongqing port intercepts substandard imported organic products for the first time

    Recently, when the Chongqing Lianglu Cuntan Inspection and Quarantine Bureau was processing the inspection application for a batch of goods imported from Germany by a company in Chongqing and declared as “organic pure cotton sanitary tampons,” it found that the smallest packaging and labels of the goods all bore the words “organic product” and the marks of foreign certification bodies, but the consignee was unable to provide relevant materials such as the China Organic Product Certification Certificate and the Organic Product Sales Certificate in accordance with the provisions of the Measures for the Administration of Organic Product Certification. In accordance with the Measures for the Administration of Organic Product Certification, the Chongqing Lianglu Cuntan Bureau determined that this batch of sanitary tampons, totaling 21 pallets, 2,804 pieces, and with a value of GBP 1,029.34, did not comply with China's regulations on imported organic products.
