- The implementation period is from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024;
- In addition to China, a total of 15 countries, including India, Turkey, and Peru, have been included in the scope of additional regulatory measures;
- The number of controlled Chinese organic products has increased to 3 types (Ginger, peanuts, andTea）；
- For Chinese organic products included in the scope of additional regulatory measures, the minimum sampling inspection ratio before export is at least 10% for all;
- The testing items for sampled products include all substances prohibited in organic production, with particular emphasis also placed on includingEthylene oxide；
- Batch number and COI number (where available) of the sampled product
- Operators of controlled products (including production, processing, trade, storage, and sales) must undergo at least two on-site inspections, one of which will be an unannounced inspection.
- During the on-site inspection of controlled products, at least one unharvested crop sample must be taken for testing. For non-planting operators, sampling tests should be conducted on raw materials, intermediate products, or finished processed products.
Certification bodies shall archive the measures taken after investigating shipments where prohibited substances are detected, such as: downgrading the goods to conventional, refusing to issue the Certificate of Inspection (COI) for sales to the EU, and the corrective and preventive measures taken by operators.
