In order to ensure food safety and guarantee that the general public can enjoy a happy Spring Festival, the Liaoning Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau and the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision recently carried out a joint inspection of the holiday market for certified food and agricultural products in 10 districts, cities, and counties across the city. During this concentrated inspection, the Liaoning Inspection and Quarantine Bureau dispatched more than 20 person-times, and the Dalian Municipal Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision dispatched more than 60 person-times. A total of 10 supermarkets, 2 specialty stores, and 2 farmers“ markets were inspected. The inspection covered 124 batches of domestic organic products, 7 batches of imported organic products, 109 batches of green food, and 80 batches of pollution-free agricultural products, involving a total of 63 production enterprises; 60 other imported food products were also inspected. The inspection mainly covered the following aspects: (1) forging, fraudulently using, illegally trading, or improperly transferring certification certificates and certification marks; (2) using certification marks on products beyond the product varieties permitted by the certification body's certification certificate; (3) using certification marks beyond the validity period of the certification body's certification certificate; (4) labeling products or packaging with ”organic products,“ ”organic conversion products,“ or simultaneously with terms such as ”pollution-free“ or ”pure natural“ without obtaining organic product certification; (5) labeling organic conversion products or their packaging as organic products or with organic product certification marks. A preliminary investigation identified 8 problematic products, mainly involving issues such as labeling product outer packaging with misleading terms such as ”original ecology, mature, 100% pure natural" without having passed organic product certification, using certification marks beyond the expiration date, and non-standard use of certification marks.
