On March 8, 2022, the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development and the Committee on Organic Production of the European Commission re-evaluated the supervision and complaint cases concerning organic products imported from third countries into the EU in the previous year, and on May 11, 2022, the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission issued the additional supervisory control measures for organic products for 2022. Compared with the additional supervisory measures of the previous two years, the 2022 supervisory measures are more targeted. - The implementation period is from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022;
- In addition to China, 15 other countries including India have been included in the scope of control under the additional supervisory measures;
- The controlled Chinese organic products have been reduced to 3 types (Ginger, pumpkin seeds and peanuts）；
- For goods included in the scope of control under the additional supervisory measures, if exported from India to the EU, at least 50% of batches shall be subject to pre-export sampling testing; while the sampling inspection ratio for other countries shall be at least 10%;
- The testing items for sampled products include all substances prohibited in organic production, with particular emphasis also placed on includingEthylene oxide；
- Pengusaha produk terkawal (termasuk proses pengeluaran, pemprosesan, perdagangan, penyimpanan, dan penjualan) mesti tertakluk kepada sekurang-kurangnya dua kali pemeriksaan di tapak, yang mana satu daripadanya adalah pemeriksaan tanpa pemberitahuan;
- Farms applying for certification for the first time must undergo an on-site inspection before sowing;
- Semasa pemeriksaan di tapak bagi produk terkawal, sekurang-kurangnya satu sampel tanaman yang belum dituai mesti diambil untuk ujian pensampelan. Bagi pengendali bukan penanaman, pensampelan dan ujian hendaklah dijalankan ke atas bahan mentah, produk pertengahan atau produk siap yang diproses;
