On March 8, 2022, the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development and the Committee on Organic Production of the European Commission reassessed the regulatory and complaint cases concerning organic products imported from third countries into the European Union in the previous year, and on May 11, 2022, the Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development of the European Commission issued the additional regulatory control measures for organic products for 2022. Compared with the additional regulatory measures of the previous two years, the 2022 regulatory measures are more targeted. • The implementation period is from July 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022;
• In addition to China, 15 other countries including India have been included in the scope of control under the additional regulatory measures;
• The controlled Chinese organic products have been reduced to 3 types (Ginger, pumpkin seeds and peanuts）；
• For goods included in the scope of control under the additional regulatory measures, if exported from India to the European Union, at least 50% of batches are required to undergo pre-export sampling testing; while the sampling inspection ratio for other countries is at least 10%;
• The testing items for sampled products include all substances prohibited in organic production, with particular emphasis also placed on includingEthylene oxide；
