Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, FOFCC had been unable to send inspectors overseas for certification activities since March 2020. At the beginning of 2023, following the end of the pandemic and the relaxation of exit controls, FOFCC inspectors immediately began applying for visas and preparing for overseas inspection work. As of 14 June 2023, FOFCC had successively dispatched six inspectors to places such as Guatemala, Russia, Mongolia and South Korea to carry out organic product certification inspection, and has now completed 25 overseas inspection projects, including six Chinese organic standard certification projects. Although pandemic control has ended, overseas inspections remain fraught with difficulties, such as generally low visa processing efficiency in various countries, the risk of contracting COVID-19 variants again after going abroad, flight routes and various transport lines abroad not yet having recovered to pre-pandemic levels, and even an incident in mid-May where an FOFCC inspector was trapped overnight by a blizzard during an inspection in Mongolia, among many other challenges. Despite the numerous difficulties, all FOFCC staff have maintained a burning passion and continue to forge ahead bravely!
