On January 19, as soon as the reporter entered Liaoning Kewen Farm in Zhoutuizi Village, Xinmin City, rows of high-standard solar greenhouses came into view, with various vegetables “beaming with smiles.” Kewen Farm is a vegetable industrialization base of Shenyang Agricultural University. Construction began in 2007 along with organic vegetable production experiments. On April 11, 2010, it obtained organic vegetable food certification, and in May it established Kewen Organic Vegetable Farm. Next, Shenyang Agricultural University will cooperate with Zhoutuizi Village to use the village's 30,000 mu of farmland to build an organic vegetable production base.Artikel berasal dariFOFCC-http://fofcc.org.cn/ms/11361/
How can it be ensured that vegetables meet organic standards? Zhang Enping, associate professor and person in charge of the base, explained that in the vegetable production process, the most important thing is to prohibit the use of chemically synthesized products and genetically engineered products, including pesticides, chemical fertilizers, hormones, and genetically modified varieties, none of which may be used. The yield of organic vegetables is one-third lower than that of regular vegetables, and labor costs are also relatively high. The production cost of organic vegetables is about five times that of vegetables grown in open fields.
